What does New Student and Family Experiences do?

New Student and Family Experiences is committed to student success. In order to provide a firm foundation for student success, we build connections with parents, families, and students, and collaborate with other departments on campus to provide the best possible college experience for all Bobcats!

Hosts and Facilitates Events Throughout the Year

A family at Family Weekend last year — Hosts Family Weekend
Every fall, we invite parents and families back to campus for a weekend full of fun with their Bobcat.

A student sending letter back home to their family — Helps Students Write a Letter Home
We host an event where students write a letter back home to those who support them on their journey through college.

Two students on their first day of school — Takes First Day of School Photos
At the beginning of the fall and spring semesters, we take first day of school photos for students to send to their families.

Every summer, we partner with New Student Orientation (NSO) to welcome and educate parents and families.

Every fall, we partner with the Department of Housing and Residential Life to welcome parents and families at Move-In.

Offers Resources to Keep Families Connected to Texas State

Family Association Scholarship Winners — Partners with the Family Association
We partner with the Family Association to help families stay connected to their student and to provide scholarships to students.
